BOW #1235
WATER-SOLUBLE NEUTRAL ORGANIC FLUX
|
BOW 1235 is a neutral,
high activity organic flux. It was developed for complete
water cleanability and solubility of post-soldering
flux residues, particularly the ionic and/or corrosive
residues which can cause electrical leakages and corrosion
in critical electronic assemblies. Test after test,
with both in-line cleaning and dish washer type systems,
showed the cleanliness results of the PC Board to exceed
the requirements of specification MIL-P-28809.
This flux is a non-spattering, water-free organic formulation
which has a rapidly evaporating vehicle that leaves
a non-spattering film of flux on the solder surfaces
and is, therefore, compatible with high soldering speeds.
Since it does not contain any glycol or its derivatives,
the flux will not cause any degradation of the insulation
resistance of PC Board surfaces. Residues of this flux
are minimal and render them to be easily removed by
either cold or hot water. |

BOW #1200 |
| BOW 1235 is recommended for automatic
soldering applications where rosin fluxes are not sufficiently
active and inorganic fluxes are too corrosive to be
used. It has excellent foaming characteristics and it
can be applied by wave, spray, dip and brush techniques. |
| As with all water-soluble types of
fluxes, post-soldering cleaning is required. It can
be easily removed in both hot or cold water. No neutralizer
is needed. For maximum cleanliness results beyond MIL-P-28809
requirements, deionized water should be used in the
final rinse. |
| BOW 1235 is completely organic, neutral
and biodegradable. The wash water can be disposed of
into the sewer system. Since the wash water is also
neutral, there is not need to adjust the pH. |
| BOW 1235 is available in 1 gallon,
5 gallon and 55 gallon containers. It should be stored
in cool, dry place away from ignition sources. |
