Lead Free
EnviroSafe Tinning Paint
Containing only a lead free alloy solder powder and our
special flux, Lead Free EnviroSafe Action Tin can be used
with EnviroSafe solder on all sanitary, food, and other
environmentally sensitive applications. (Can also be used
with other solders.) Large copper, brass and other tubular
materials can be sweat soldered with complete coverage
by tinning surface first with Action Tin, then fluxing,
assembling and soldering. Perfect soldering is achieved
when the two surfaces in contact are metallurgically bonded
together by the solder. The entire area is covered and
there are no voids. Action Tin wets each surface entirely
and you can see this before soldering. It pre-tins not
only copper and brass, but also hard to solder materials
such as steel, iron, stainless steel, cast iron, beryllium
copper, terne plate, lead flashings, and lead coatings.
After pre-tinning, you can then assemble using any flux
and solder.
Solder-MagicAction-Tin
Tinning Paint
Tinning Paints are used for pre-tinning of any product,
but especially for difficult to solder applications. They
are applied, as the name implies, as a paint. The paints
are more fluid because they lack a thickening agent, therefore
the paint requires stirring prior to use. Typical metal
content is up to 30% by weight. The paint is brushed or
wiped onto the surface and reflowed by oven, torch or
iron. It is available in most common soldering alloys.
The highly active zinc chloride based flux system is appropriate
for many types of industrial solder alloys and base metals.
Warm water is used to clean any residues, especially for
critical metal surfaces. These products are not appropriate
for sensitive electronic applications.
Safety Considerations:
Personal protection should include eye protection, chemical
resistant gloves, and apron/lab coat. Avoid contact with
skin and avoid breathing fumes. Use in a well ventilated
area. Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet for more
information.
Use Guidelines:
Paints: Store between 4 and
25°C. Stir well before each application. Keep covered.
To make thicker let stand for 1 hour, pour off
the small amounts of liquid until desired consistency
is reached. Dispose of used paste per all appropriate
laws and regulations.
